We’re not looking at anyone but Sydney Sweeney at the 2025 Met Gala.
The Anyone But You star stunned in a black beaded gown from featuring a peekaboo neckline coming together with a brooch at the base of her throat. As for her inspiration for the custom Miu Miu look, just one hour before Sydney, 27, arrived at the May 5 gala, she teased her look with a snap of Kim Novak donning a similar ensemble decades ago. (See more stars embracing the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme here.)
Her ensemble represented the “Tailored For You” dress code of this year’s event, which is being led by Oscar nominee Colman Domingo, F1 racer Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams. Vogue editor Anna Wintour remained in her annual spot on the committee for the publication’s event.
As for Sydney, she attended the evening solo, just weeks after news broke that she had ended her engagement to Jonathan Davino.
However, this wasn’t Sydney’s first iconic look since her split.
The day after multiple outlets reported the breakup on March 31, the Euphoria actress showed off a wedding-esque look when she wore an ivory-colored satin dress by bridal brand Wiederhoeft to a CinemaCon panel in Las Vegas.
But despite her split news, Sydney’s recent public appearances that have left fans wondering about her relationship status. After all, she was spotted reuniting with her ex both in Los Angeles and Florida in April. The pair seemed friendly on each occasion, with an eyewitness telling E! News that “Sydney and Jonathan sat together side by side and were all smiles.” Still, Sydney was pictured without her ring.
But Jonathan isn’t the only one keeping her company. Sydney has also been spending time with her costars, attending the wedding of Anyone But You costar Glen Powell‘s sister in March. Despite speculation that the two were an item, the rumors were shut down by none other than Glen’s mom.
“They’re definitely not together,” Cyndy Powell told the Daily Mail March 31, adding that Sydney had attended Leslie’s Texas nuptials “with her friend.”
“We love Sydney,” she explained. “We’ve considered her just a really, really good friend. We were all together so much and we haven’t seen her in a long time. She’s really a friend and we all enjoy her.”
Weeks later, she was spotted at Stagecoach music festival on April 28 with Brandon Sklenar, her costar in the upcoming thriller The Housemaid.
In a video shared to TikTok, the actors stood among the crowd at Creed’s performance, with Sydney standing in front of Brandon as they jammed out to the music. However, Brandon appears to be taken, as he recently stepped out at the premiere for his show 1923 with his girlfriend since 2020, Courtney Salviolo.
