It’s no strange thing that Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi are parents.
After all, theStranger Things star and Jon Bon Jovi’s son announced Aug. 21 that they had welcomed a baby girl, and although the couple are both in their early 20s, Millie previously shared that she had plans to follow in her own mother Kelly Brown’s footsteps by becoming a parent early.
“I’m still really young,” Millie, 21, emphasized on a March 10 episode of the Smartless podcast. “But my mom actually had her first child at 21 and my dad was 19.”
And Millie explained that it was her plan before she met Jake, 23, whom she married last May.
“Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like ‘Baby dolls,’” she recalled. “I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.”
Rest assured, though, Jake—son to the Bon Jovi frontman andDorothea Hurley—was well aware he and Millie would be starting a family early.
“Jake knows how important it is to me,” Millie continued. “Like, of course I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me personally.”
Millie also teased they wouldn’t stop at one.
“I really want a big family,” she added. “I’m one of four, he’s one of four, so it is in our future.”
As for adoption, that, too, was on Millie’s mind at the time.
“For me, my home is full of love for anyone and anything,” Millie shared. “So that’s kind of where we’re at. We’re wanting to start a family and it doesn’t matter in what way or when, but it will happen for sure.”
Indeed, it happened sooner rather than later.
“This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post. “We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were three.”
