Netflix has released first look photos of Rachel Weisz as a woman with a growing obsession with a colleague ahead of the limited series Vladimir premiering on March 5.
The project, based on Julia May Jonas’ novel of the same name, portrays a woman’s growing obsession with a colleague. Weisz plays M, whose life unravels as she becomes obsessed with Vladimir, played by Leo Woodall.
“Seduction and obsession collide in Vladimir—a provocative limited series brimming with forbidden desires, razor-sharp wit and charismatic, unpredictable characters. As boundaries blur and secrets simmer, she’ll risk everything to bring her most scandalous fantasies to life,” a logline from the series producers adds.

“The protagonist’s] fantasy is about the power of desire,” Weisz adds in her own statement. “The invigorating, stimulating, inspiring and revivifying feeling that she gets from her obsession with Vlad. What it’s about is coming back to life in a certain way that had lain dormant for some time.”
Playwright and author Jonas is also a writer and executive producer on the series, which was filmed in Toronto.
The ensemble cast includes John Slattery, Ellen Robertson, Jessica Henwick, Matt Walsh, Kayli Carter, Miriam Silverman, Mallori Johnson, Tattiawna Jones and Louise Lambert.
Kate Robin (Six Feet Under, The Affair) will serve as showrunner, and Sharon Horgan (via her Merman banner) and Jason Winer (via his Small Dog Picture Company) are also among the executive producers, along with Weisz, Jon Radler, Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini. 20th Television is producing.
