For Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey, their kids are their everything.
And that’s why it’s so hard seeing their three children—Camden, 12, Brooklyn, 10, and Phoenix, 8—grow up. In fact, the couple recently got emotional after realizing Camden will hit an important birthday this year.
“Our oldest is going to be a teenager this year,” Nick shared on Entertainment Tonight, a sentiment that made Vanessa emotional, as she exclaimed “oh no” before beginning to tear up.
“They’re growing,” Vanessa shared through tears. “We love our children, and we love watching them grow.”
And Camden isn’t the only one growing up fast.
“I’m doing laundry and I’m folding Phoenix’s little Superman Underoos and I’m thinking, ‘He won’t be in these for long,’” the Love Is Blind host noted. “And I’m talking to Brooklyn about the birds and the bees, and she’s like, ‘I don’t want to grow up.’”
But for Vanessa, watching their youngest child grow up might be the most difficult of all.
“All of Phoenix’s firsts are my lasts,” Vanessa said, “and that’s a hard thing to swallow.”
However, she’s still looking forward to all of the milestones Camden and her youngest kids will soon experience.
As Vanessa put it, “I’m excited about girlfriends and boyfriends and driving.”
Vanessa also shared her gratitude for having the chance to spend more time with her children in recent years—an upside to the 2024 cancellation of NCIS: Hawaii, on which she starred for three seasons. The Lacheys relocated to Oahu in 2021 when Vanessa booked the role, and have since moved back to California.
“The silver lining to that is it’s been able to give us so much time with our kids,” Vanessa added. “And now I’m there for everything.”

Magical Moment
Vanessa and Nick Lachey rang in 2024 at Disneyland with their three kids Camden, Brooklyn and Phoenix.
“Happy New Year at the happiest place on earth!” Vanessa shared on social media. “This is the first New Year we all 5 rang in together. All three kids (and parents) made it to midnight! Haha!”
Gingerbread Goodies
The family celebrated Phoenix’s 7th birthday in 2023 by continuing their gingerbread house tradition. “And just like that, our Littlest Lachey is 7,” Vanessa wrote on Instagram. “He’s our miracle baby that we never take for granted. The missing piece to our family puzzle, the one who makes us whole… the cherry on top!”
Beach Day

All Grown Up
The model marked her daughter’s 9th birthday in 2024 with this beachy pic. “From 1 to 9 in the blink of an eye,” she said. “Happy Birthday to our Baby Girl.”
