It’s the little things that tipped fans off to Louis Tomlinson‘s new girlfriend.
Zara McDermott seemingly confirmed her relationship with the One Direction singer, 33, after he made a subtle appearance on her Instagram Stories. The Love Island alum posted a photo of breakfast for two April 10 in Malibu and, while she opted for eggs benedict, the person across from her chose blueberry pancakes.
While her dining companion isn’t fully visible, eagle-eyed fans noticed that one of Louis’ signature tattoos—a cross on his right forearm—is visible in the shot.
The 28-year-old’s sly reveal comes as speculation around their possible relationship has been mounting.
The duo—who follow one another on Instagram—first prompted rumors that they’re a couple when they were spotted on a romantic getaway in Aldeburgh, England, in March. Then, on April 8, they seemingly attended a Stereophonics show together in Los Angeles April 8, as seen via matching videos on their Instagram Stories taken from the same location at the Wiltern Theatre.
Louis—who shares son Freddie, 9, with ex Briana Jungwirth—had most recently dated Eleanor Calder, who he was in an on-and-off relationship with from 2011 until 2022.
Meanwhile, Zara coupled up with Adam Collard on the fourth season of Love Island back in 2018 and later went on to date Made in Chelsea costar Sam Thompson for five years before breaking up for good in December.
The British television personality has since hosted and produced several documentaries for BBC Three on topics such as rape culture, disordered eating and revenge porn.
Louis’ rumored new relationship comes amid a difficult time for the “Two of Us” singer, as he and fellow One Direction alums Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik mourned the death of bandmate Liam Payne after a fatal fall in October. In fact, a member of his team recently detailed how the death of Liam has impacted whether Louis could ever take part of a One Direction reunion.
“Louis just despairs,” a PR manager for Louis, 33, told The Standard on March 12. “He could never get up there and sing as part of the band after what has happened.”
The “Back To You” singer had previously paid tribute to his late friend with a touching post on Instagram after his death.
“Liam was an incredible songwriter with a great sense of melody,” Louis said in an Oct. 17 tribute, which featured a touching photo of them performing onstage. “We often spoke of getting back in the studio together to try and recreate the writing chemistry we had built up in the band.”
“I want you to know that if Bear ever needs me I will be the Uncle he needs in his life and tell him stories of how amazing his dad was,” he continued of Liam’s 8-year-old son with ex Cheryl Cole. “I wish I got [the] chance to say goodbye and tell you one more time how much I loved you. Payno, my boy, one of my best friends, my brother, I love you mate. Sleep well X.”
