Prince Louis was the center of attention at the Trooping the Colour parade.
The 7-year-old gathered alongside his parents Kate Middleton and Prince William, as well as his siblings Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 10, to celebrate King Charles III’s official birthday June 14—and he absolutely stole the show with his adorable personality.
Indeed, while the Wales family joined Charles, 76, and his wife Queen Camilla, 77, on the Buckingham Palace balcony to greet the crowd ahead of the Royal Air Force’s Red Arrows flypast, the youngest royal sibling glanced back at his grandfather before turning back around to enthusiastically mimic the monarch’s wave to onlookers.
Meanwhile, George was doing his part to ensure his little brother was on his best behavior. When Louis got carried away in interacting with the cheering crowd below, the 11-year-old gently nudged him to stop by placing a hand on his arm.
But even after the flypast concluded, Louis couldn’t help himself from turning around to give the crowd one last wave before Kate ushered him back into the palace.
“Over 1,000 soldiers, around 200 horses and approximately 300 musicians came together in a display of Military precision, horsemanship and fanfare to mark The King’s official birthday,” the royal family captioned a joint Instagram post after Trooping the Colour concluded. “And what a great way to conclude the celebrations, with a flypast from our friends @RAFRedArrows flying for the first time with a mix of sustainable aviation fuel.”
Earlier in the day, Louis and George—who wore coordinated navy blue suits and red ties—arrived at Buckingham palace by carriage. And while George kept his composure, Louis couldn’t help but flash the most adorable toothy grin. Across from them, Kate and Charlotte shared a sweet twinning moment of their own, donning matching aqua ensembles.
While Kate’s appearance at the annual parade last year marked her first since revealing her cancer diagnosis three months prior, the Princess of Wales’ most recent outing comes five months after she announced she was in remission following months of chemotherapy.
“It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery,” the 43-year-old wrote on X in January. “As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal.”
“I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead,” she continued. “There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”
