The Real Housewives of Potomac star Wendy Osefo and husband Eddie Osefo have been arrested and booked on 16 insurance fraud charges, before being released on Friday, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
A spokesperson for the Carroll County Circuit Court in Westminster, Maryland told THR that a warrant for the arrest of the Osefo was executed on Thursday and they were booked in all on 16 charges, including seven felonies.
The Osefos are alleged to have made false and misleading information leading to insurance fraud in excess of $300. The criminal charges follow an April 2024 burglary reported by the Osefos at their home, after which they allegedly made false theft claims for luxury items to their insurers.
The court representatives said the Osefos were released on Friday on a $50,000 bond. No information on future court dates was available. Wendy Osefo also faces one misdemeanor charge for allegedly making a false statement to a police officer.
Osefo became a cast member on Real Housewives of Potomac in 2020. Her legal woes are only the latest for the long-running Bravo reality TV franchise, with The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice having served 11 months in jail over a bank and bankruptcy fraud case.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member Jen Shah is serving a 6.5 year prison sentence after she pled guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in July 2022. Shah is set to exit prison in late 2026.
