Riley Keough and Ben Smith-Peterson have grown their family.
Priscilla Presley, who was married to Elvis Presley for six years until their 1973 divorce, revealed that her granddaughter and her husband privately welcomed their second baby earlier this year.
“That’s what makes me happy,” Priscilla told People of her flourishing family in an interview published Sept. 17, “knowing everyone is doing well.”
Riley and Ben first became parents in August 2022 when they welcomed their daughter Tupelo by surrogate.
“I can carry children, but it felt like the best choice for what I had going on physically with the autoimmune stuff,” Riley, who has been candid about her battle with Lyme disease, told Vanity Fair in August 2023. “I think it’s a very cool, selfless, and incredible act that these women do to help other people.”
And since entering parenthood, the 36-year-old’s focus has been on giving her kids the best childhood possible.
“This is the thing in my life so far that I have really wanted to, quote-unquote, get right,” she continued. “I don’t think you ever can be a perfect parent, but I would like to be the best mom for her that I can be.”
The Daisy Jones & The Six actress added, “That’s very important to me.”
Beyond sharing a glimpse into her own life as a mother, Riley—whose parents are Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough—previously revealed that she was quite the rebellious teenager herself.
In fact, she once had to call her late mother from prison after getting arrested as a minor.
“She had her rebellious moment, I also had that,” Riley said of Lisa Marie during a January episode of Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast. “Where I would sneak out and hang out with people I shouldn’t, wasn’t allowed to, and getting arrested.”
While the Under the Bridge star added that she doesn’t remember ever seeing her own mugshot, she did recall exactly what landed her behind bars.
“It was for…I can’t say this! It was for breaking and entering,” Riley confessed. “I went to a party at my friend’s house, but I didn’t know that it wasn’t my friend’s house. It was a house for sale. The police came, and most people got away and then about 10 of us got arrested.”
And for her part, Lisa Marie was less than thrilled to receive the news.
“My mom was pissed!” Riley admitted. “She was like, ‘This is on you, girl.'”
“Luckily, it wasn’t in the papers,” she added. “I was grounded for like three months, and I was grounded on my 16th or 15th birthday or something. I was grounded, and she was in Las Vegas, and I had to call her and tell her to come back from Vegas and pick me up in prison.”
