Watch:Bruce Willis’ Wife Emma Heming Willis Pens Moving Father’s Day Tribute

Emma Heming Willis continues to go the whole nine yards for Bruce Willis.

The model—who shares kids Mabel Ray, 13, and Evelyn Penn, 11, with the Pulp Fiction actor—celebrated Father’s Day June 15 with a tribute to her husband amid his battle with frontotemporal dementia, known as FTD.

“Happy Father’s Day to all the dads living with disability or disease, showing up in the ways they can and to the children who show up for them,” Emma captioned her Instagram post, which featured a sweet photo of Bruce, 70, embracing Evelyn. “What Bruce teaches our girls goes far beyond words. Resilience, unconditional love, and the quiet strength in simply being present.”

“This photo says so much,” the 46-year-old continued. “Love depends. It adapts. It says, even when everything else changes.”

Like for many “symbolic days,” as she put it, this specific holiday can “stir up a lot” of emotions for her.

“I’m profoundly sad today,” Emma shared. “I wish, with every cell in my body, that things could be different for him and lighter for our family.”

But navigating this illness is their new reality.

“As they say in our FTD community, ‘It is what it is.’ And while that might sound dismissive, to me, it’s not,” she wrote. “It grounds me. It helps me return to the acceptance of what is and not fight this every step of the way like I used to.”

“Today, let’s celebrate the badass dads,” she concluded, “those who are here and those we carry with us. Onward.”

She’s not alone, either. After all, she has the support of Bruce and Demi Moore’s oldest daughters Rumer Willis, 36, Scout Willis, 33, and Tallulah Willis, 31.

For her part, Rumer—mom to 2-year-old Louetta—detailed the highs and lows she experienced on Father’s Day amid Bruce’s condition, which impacts his ability to communicate.

“I feel a deep ache in my chest to talk to you and tell you everything I’m doing and what’s going on in my life,” she wrote on Instagram, sharing a sweet picture of her hugging her dad. “To hug you and ask you about life and your stories and struggles and successes. I wish I asked you more questions while you could still tell me about it all.”

But she’s tried to find the silver linings in her dad’s health battle.

“I know you wouldn’t want me to be sad today so I’ll try to just be grateful reminding myself how lucky I am that you’re my dad and that you’re still with me and I can still hold you and hug you and kiss your cheek and rub your head I can tell you stories,” she explained. “I can watch the way your eyes light up when you see Louetta I will be grateful for every moment I have with you.”

“I love you so much dad happy Father’s Day,” Rumer concluded her post. “Sending love to all those who are in the boat with me or have lost their fathers, to the single moms who are the dads too, to my future baby daddy…”
