Sabrina Carpenter left quite an impression tonight.
The “Please Please Please” singer dazzled in a see-through red lookas she arrived at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 7.
Sabrina turned heads when she stepped onto the red carpet at UBS Arena in New York in a sheer crimson-colored custom Valentino lace dress, which she accessorized with a light pink furry boa that she draped over her arms, as well as Tiffany & Co. jewelry. To top off her glam ensemble, she wore her blonde locks in cascading curls and opted for her signature glowy makeup look. (See all the stars arriving at the 2025 VMAs here.)
It was especially exciting for the “Espresso” singer since she was nominated in eight categories, including Video of the Year for “Manchild,” Best Pop Artist and Best Album for Short n’ Sweet.
Sabrina’s appearance—which will also include a performance during the evening—comes one week after her new album Man’s Best Friend dropped. Like her old Hollywood-inspired outfit at the VMAs, she was channeling a past decade in her latest project, describing her inspiration as ’60s funk-pop.
“I’m so inspired by art from that time period,” she told Apple Music 1’sZane Lowe in an interview published Sept. 4. “I’m so inspired by music, and chords and instruments from that time. Everything that has just a little bit of a softness and a fuzziness to it is something that really resonates with me and always has.”
Although the 26-year-old will always have love for her 2024 album—for which she won Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards—she was able to unleash her sexual side with Man’s Best Friend.
“I felt like, ‘Why is this taboo?’ This is something that women experience in such a real way, becoming comfortable with themselves and who they are,” Sabrina explained to Interview Magazine earlier this month. “I’m really, really grateful that there’s enough of my audience that really knows me as a person that will be able to hear these songs how they’re intended. It’s always going to be up to interpretation and I understand that.”
