Bridgerton‘s Luke Newton has an update for our dearest readers.
While Colin and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) has found love, the actor—who is nominated at the 2025 SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series alongside his castmates—believes the couple’s story is far from over. (Click here to see all the celebrities on the red carpet.)
In fact, he said “what’s really great” about the upcoming fourth season of the Netflix series is that fans will be able to get a closer look into Polin’s married life.
“We’ve seen all the twists and turns to the drama of their relationship last season,” Newton exclusively told E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi on Feb. 23. “You don’t often see it on screen of just two people living happily ever after—and just that being what it.”
However, viewers will also be jumping “straight into a new love story” with Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).
“It’s really interesting,” he teased of the dynamic. “It’s very different this year.”
Newton added, “There are many scenes that I get to read on the page—and I get to check in with my big bro Luke every now and then and just see how he’s getting on—but I can’t wait to actually see it. I think it’s just gonna be stunning.”
For now, the 32-year-old is looking forward to hanging out with his costars outside of the Ton. With costar Jonathan Bailey up for additional SAG Awards for his performance in Wicked, Newton said it’s been “absolutely incredible” to see his onscreen brother get the flowers he deserves.
“As soon as wicked was out, I booked a screening,” he gushed. “Wicked holds a special place in most people’s hearts, particularly if you came from theater.”
Newton added of Bailey’s performance, “I just loved it.”
