Sandra Bullock doesn’t want anyone to be swindled.
The Speed actress shared a rare message addressing recent social media scams that have targeted her fans and members of her family.
“My family’s safety, as well as the innocent people being taken advantage of, is my deep concern,” Sandra—who is mom to kids Louis, 15, and Laila, 11—said in a statement to People released on Feb. 3. “And there will be a time when I will comment more, but for now our focus is helping law enforcement handle this matter.”
“Please be aware that I do not participate in any form of social media,” the 60-year-old continued. “Any accounts pretending to be me or anyone associated with me are fake accounts and have been created for financial gain or to exploit people around me.”
Sandra released her statement just one day after her sister Gesine Bullock-Prado took to her personal Instagram account to flag that she has had to report fake accounts pretending to be her on Fakebook.
“I spend multiple times a day reporting fakes, dealing with weird & scary emails to my BUSINESS and HOME from men who believe that, through one of these many fake ‘me’s, they have a relationship with my sister through private messages,” Gesine wrote on Instagram next to a screenshot of the fake accounts Feb. 2. “And off app sites and have been giving (sometimes) THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to an incredibly famous and successful grown assed woman.”
“This is my only account and y’all know it’s about baking, cooking, animals, and gardening,” she added. “I’m a grown assed middle-aged woman with a life and I don’t troll around at 54 DMing people.”
Gesine went on to reference the woman in France who was allegedly scammed out of thousands of dollars by a scammer who used AI to convince her she was in a relationship with Brad Pitt. Still, Gesine ended by encouraging her followers to report the accounts as she fears for her family’s safety.
“But the fact that I’m put in danger, as is my livelihood, doesn’t mean a damn thing,” she wrote. “If you see a fake account, are friended or messaged by one, report and block.”
For her part, Sandra—who made a rare public appearance in December at a Lakers game—emphasized she does not have any personal social media accounts. She’s also remained out of the spotlight since the passing of her longtime boyfriend Bryan Randall, who died in August 2023 after a three-year battle with ALS.
