Seth Rogen and James Franco Attend SNL 50 After Friendship Fallout

Watch:Seth Rogen Breaks Silence on James Franco Friendship Fallout

This is the end of Seth Rogen and James Franco‘s stalemate.

The actors—who became friends while starring on Freaks and Geeks in 1999 before severing ties in recent years—both attended SNL 50: The Anniversary Special in New YorkFeb. 16.

And although Rogen and Franco didn’t run into each other on the red carpet, they each stepped out separately at the 50th anniversary event for Saturday Night Live.

Rogen, 42, looked sharp in an off-white suit with statement black lapels as he posed for pics alongside wife Lauren Miller, who rocked a one-shoulder black gown for the taping at 30 Rock.

Meanwhile, Franco, 46, sported a traditional black suit while keeping his arm around his girlfriend Izabel Pakzad, who he’s been dating since 2017. For her part, she rocked a grey pantsuit with floral stitching and a ruffled neckline, keeping her hair tucked into a bun. (See all the A-listers on the red carpet at SNL 50 here.)

Although Rogen and Franco frequently worked together in the 2000s and 2010s, including on films Pineapple Express and The Interview, Franco revealed last year that Rogen had cut ties with him.

“No. I haven’t talked to Seth,” he told Variety in October. “I love Seth, we had 20 great years together, but I guess it’s over. And not for lack of trying. I’ve told him how much he’s meant to me.”

However, Rogen appears to be distancing himself. In an interview published five days before SNL 50, he told Esquire of Franco’s comments on their friendship, “I absorb so little media that it really wasn’t on my radar.”

Rogen ultimately said he decided not to work with Franco following allegations of sexual misconduct against him in 2018, which Franco denied.

“I also look back to that interview in 2018 where I comment that I would keep working with James,” Rogen told The Sunday Times in 2021, “and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now.”

He added that the end of their professional collaboration “is not a coincidence.”
