SK Global, the financier and producer behind titles like Anyone But You, and FilmNation, which recently released best picture winner Anora and nominee Conclave, have entered a partnership that will see the companies work together on SK Global’s film slate.
FilmNation will help with the development and packaging of SK Global’s features, and will also present select projects for sale in the international market.
One of the first projects under the new partnership will be SK Global’s Reykjavik, a historical thriller starring Jeff Daniels, Jared Harris, and J.K. Simmons set during the 1986 Reykjavík Summit between President Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev.
FilmNation COO Andy Kim and CEO Glen Basner said in a statement, “We’re thrilled to be working with SK Global as their commitment to bold storytelling, ambitious filmmaking and championing fresh voices aligns with our own.”
Jeannine Tang COO at SK Global noted that FilmNation’s “global expertise in both strategy and creative vision is unmatched, and we’re excited to collaborate as we continue to deliver stories that connect with audiences worldwide.”
Kim and Tang negotiated the deal on behalf of their respective companies.
