NBC has made its first renewals for the 2026-27 season, picking up its comedies St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place.

The two shows have put up decent ratings numbers on Monday (St. Denis) and Friday (Happy’s Place) so far this season, each drawing same-day audiences in line with their 2024-25 averages (not including streaming or delayed viewing, which bumps both up substantially). NBC notes that St. Denis Medical has also grown its three-day adults 18-49 rating a bit season to season, a fairly uncommon occurrence for a network comedy.

Both shows will enter their third seasons in 2026-27.

“Both St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place have delivered comedic brilliance over their first two seasons, truly connecting with our audience with hilarious characters, and remain hugely important and successful programs to our primetime and Peacock lineup,” said Lisa Katz, president scripted content for NBC and Peacock. “A huge thank you to the producers, casts and crews of both shows who have brought these wonderful stories to life and will now continue to tell their laugh-out-loud stories.”

St. Denis Medical, a mockumentary set at an Oregon hospital, stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, David Alan Grier, Allison Tolman, Josh Lawson, Kahyun Kim, Mekki Leeper and Kaliko Kauahi. Eric Ledgin and Justin Spitzer co-created the series. Ledgin is the showrunner and executive produces with Spitzer, Simon Heuer, Ruben Fleischer, Bridget Kyle and Vicky Luu. Universal Television produces with More Bees, Inc. and Spitzer Holding Company.

Happy’s Place stars Reba McEntire as a woman who inherits her father’s tavern, not knowing she has a young half-sister (Belissa Escobedo) who received half-ownership of the bar. Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and Rex Linn also star. Writer Kevin Abbott executive produces with McEntire, Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Matt Berry and Pamela Fryman. Kevin Abbott and Julie Abbott created the series, which comes form Universal TV.
