Country music is taking over the California desert.
Fans and celebs alike flocked to the annual Stagecoach Festival in Indio, Calif., where headliners Zach Bryan, Jelly Roll and Luke Combs are set to lead an all-star lineup featuring the likes of Shaboozey, Brothers Osborne, Carly Pearce and Sturgill Simpson.
Lizzo and Paris Hilton turned up the heat on Friday with a performance at Diplo’s HonkyTonk, where the “Truth Hurts” singer rocked a black lingerie look and choker necklace set.
As for Paris, she embraced the country twang with her kids Phoenix, 2, and London, 17 months.
“Back in the desert for my first rodeo,” she wrote on Instagram. “Teaching Phoenix how to say ‘Howdy.'”
The three-day festival, taking place from April 25 to 27, will also see Lana Del Rey hit the stage following her headlining performance at the Coachella Music Festival in 2024. She recently shared her excitement to deliver a more intimate set at Stagecoach as she continues work on her upcoming album, which is expected to mark her foray into country music.
“It’s not lost on me about how amazing it is that we got to headline Coachella last year,” she said in a video posted on Instagram April 11, “and that we get to sing at the top of the night at Stagecoach on the smaller stage this year. My band is so excited, I’m really excited and I’m really happy for this album to be moving along.”
Meanwhile, Nelly, who previously performed at Stagecoach in 2023, is returning to the festival to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his debut album Country Grammar. In the past, the Grammy winner—who’s scored crossover country hits like 2004’s “Over and Over” with Tim McGraw and 2013’s “Cruise (Remix)” with Florida Georgia Line—has been open about his “love and respect” for country music.
“One thing I credit my fans for, and that I’m very thankful for, is being able to be musically free,” he told Billboard in 2021. “I don’t have to be categorized.”
And he won’t be the only cross-genre performer to take the stage. After all, the festival will also feature a cross-genre late night lineup including Diplo, Backstreet Boys, T-Pain and Creed, who are expected to keep the party going well into the night.
