Finn Wolfhard is turning his look upside down.
The Stranger Things star said goodbye to his shaggy raven hairstyle as he debuted a new buzzcut at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards May 25 in Tokyo, Japan.
For the appearance, the 22-year-old went clean shaven as he donned a black-and-white suit jacket with matching trousers. He was also joined on the red carpet by his costar Gaten Matarazzo before the pair presented the award for Best Continuing Series—which went to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc—during the ceremony.
Finn’s hairstyle isn’t the only big change in his life as of late. Back in December, the actor reflected on finishing the final season of the Emmy-winning sci-fi series, which is set to debut on Netflix later this year.
“We just wrapped Stranger Things Season 5,” he wrote in a post on Instagram at the time. “I’m still in shock. We shot it for a year and I’ll miss all of my friends and our characters terribly.”
Since the show debuted in 2016, Finn has built a close bond with costars Gaten, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp—though he recently admitted he was nervous about how the end of the long-running series might affect their relationships.
“These guys really are like family in a lot of ways,” he told Cosmopolitan earlier this month. “I had this fear that after we were done, it was going to be weird to see them.”
Fortunately for Finn, he quickly found that his bonds with his castmates were still intact.
“I went on a trip with Caleb, Gaten and Noah a month or two after we wrapped, and it really helped the transition,” he continued. “You know that feeling that whenever you go home, you kind of go back into your role that you were when you were a kid? It’s like an archived version of yourself. Within that group, I’ll always be a kid. I’ll always be their 12-year-old buddy.”
