Sydney Sweeney has a new man in her life.
Less than a month after the Euphoria star and fiancé Jonathan Davino broke up, the 27-year-old hard-launched a new love.
“Introducing sully bear,” Sydney captioned an April 21 photo dump, consisting of the most adorable pics of her and her new German Shepherd puppy. “so far in our two weeks together he’s become my set best friend, my bowling partner, my nap buddy, mutual water enthusiast, and travel companion.”
Alongside the pictures, the White Lotus actress also shared a video of the pup running—or pouncing, rather—through the grass to get to her, as well as another in which he is covering his face with his paws to hide himself from what seems to be a cloud of mist.
But while much of her affection is now directed toward her new furry companion, Sydney proved that there is no bad blood between her and Jonathan, 41, since their breakup last month. Indeed, the former couple reunited for a casual lunch at Beverly Glen Deli in Los Angeles earlier this month.
Just days before, Sydney was also seen reuniting with her Anyone But You costar Glen Powell at his sister Leslie Powell’s wedding in Texas. And though fans have speculated a budding romance between the two since their 2023 film, the Twisters star emphasized that the timing of their reunion was simply due to his sister’s friendship with his former costar.
“Timing is everything in this world, isn’t it,” Glen said during an April 2 appearance on Jenna & Friends. “I mean, she and Syd are obviously friends.”
“It was a hell of a wedding,” he continued of Leslie’s nuptials. “The Powells know how to do it right, so all the people that love her were there.”
But despite Glen and Sydney’s constant attempts to dispel the rumors, Glen’s mom Cyndy Powell emphasized that the actress was friends with his whole family—and even had her own plus one to Leslie’s wedding.
“They’re definitely not together,” Cyndy told the Daily Mail March 31, adding that Sydney had attended Leslie’s Texas nuptials “with her friend.”
“We love Sydney,” she explained. “We’ve considered her just a really, really good friend. We were all together so much and we haven’t seen her in a long time. She’s really a friend and we all enjoy her.”
And Sydney has previously admitted how difficult living in the spotlight can be, especially when it comes to maintaining relationships.
“I’ve been in a steady relationship for a really long time,” she told Glamour U.K. in December 2023, prior to her and Jonathan’s split, “which is not normal in this industry and not normal for my age. What I’ve noticed about the idea of celebrity is people really love to build someone up and then tear them down.”
