The trailer for season two of A Man on the Inside gives a peek into silver-haired private investigator Charles Nieuwendyk’s (Ted Danson) next case — and also how it will keep some of season one’s characters in the world of the show.
The Netflix comedy, which premieres Nov. 20, will follow Charles as he goes undercover as a college professor — his pre-retirement career — to see who is blackmailing a university president (Max Greenfield). The case naturally takes Charles away from the retirement home where he carried out his first investigation for private eye Julie (Lilah Richcreek Estrada), but the people he connected with there aren’t out of his life.
In the trailer (watch it below), Charles and his friend Calbert (Stephen McKinley Henderson) continue their backgammon games, and he also enlists Calbert, Virginia (Sally Struthers), Elliott (John Getz) and Grant (Clyde Kusatsu) to be part of the investigation. Stephanie Beatriz also reprises her role as Didi, the managing director the retirement community.
The season two cast also includes Gary Cole, Michaela Conlin, Lisa Gilroy, Madison Hu, Sam Huntington, Jason Mantzoukas, Constance Marie, Linda Park, Mary Steenburgen, David Strathairn and Jill Talley.
A Man on the Inside is produced by Universal Television and is based on the documentary The Mole Agent. Creator and showrunner Michael Schur executive produces through is Fremulon banner. Morgan Sackett, David Miner of 3 Arts Entertainment, Maite Alberdi and Marcela Santibañez of Micromundo Producciones, and Julie Goldman and Christopher Clements ofMotto Pictures also executive produce.
