Teddi Mellencamp Shares Insight Into Her Darkest Days After Shaving Head Amid Cancer Battle

Teddi Mellencamp is sharing a heartbreaking update on her battle with stage 4 cancer.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum—who is currently undergoing treatment to shrink multiple tumors in her brain and lungs—recently shared insight into how she really feels about going bald after shaving her head in February prior to her brain surgery.

“The day to day decision of wig versus no wig. Crying days I tend to pick the wig,” the 43-year-old wrote on Instagram May 6 along with a photo of herself sporting long blond locks. “The highs and lows of treatment for stage 4 brain and lung tumors are pretty extreme. Please go get your yearly checks.”

Teddi—who is mom to kids Slate, 12, Cruz, 10 and Dove, 5, with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave—added, “It’s melanoma awareness month. No better time than now to book and remind a friend or loved one.”

The Two Ts in a Pod podcast co-host’s emotional message came just over a week after she walked her first red carpet since buzzing off all of her hair earlier this year.

Teddi stepped out to attend An Unforgettable Evening 2025 Gala on April 28, a fundraiser for the Women’s Cancer Research Fund. For the benefit, Teddi sported a black pantsuit set with plunging neckline and silver shoes, not to mention she went wig-free.

Several days prior, the reality star and daughter of music icon John Mellencamp shared a promising update on her ongoing treatment, which includes immunotherapy and radiation.

“Honestly, the crying is already done, but I just finished with all of my scans and my tumors have significantly shrunk,” Teddi said in an April 23 Instagram video, “which doctors believe means that this all will work and that I will be back to myself and feeling good.”

Teddi—who previously said doctors had given her 50/50 odds of survival—added, “I’m going to keep a positive outlook because that’s the way my doctor just spoke to me. He’s like, ‘You did this, you got this. You got that Mellencamp blood, so you’re good.’“

However, that doesn’t mean the treatments haven’t taken an immense mental and physical toll on the star.

“I don’t think you understand the debilitating pain that I feel some days,” she told ET in an April 17 interview before choking up at the thought of leaving her three kids motherless. “That is extremely frightening. My kids are young.”
