‘Toy Story 5’ Trailer: Buzz Lightyear and a Balding Woody Reunite to Rescue Kids From Electronics

Woody and Buzz Lightyear are reuniting again for Pixar‘s fifth installment of Toy Story.

On Thursday, Pixar released a trailer for Toy Story 5, which follows the toys as they deal with modern-day kids’ obsession with electronics after 8-year-old Bonnie gets a Lilypad (voiced by Greta Lee).

After the Lilypad causes Bonnie to miss out on making real-life friends, Jessie (Joan Cusack) confides in Woody (Tom Hanks) that toys have invaded her house. “Toys are for play, but tech is for everything,” Woody says to a sad Jessie. She responds, “I’m losing Bonnie to this device.”

The trailer for the animated movie also shows Buzz (Tim Allen) and Woody teaming back up to save Boonie. “It’s been too long, cowboy,” Buzz says to Woody.

The franchise premiered in 1995, and since Woody is aging, the characters poke fun at him for being bald. Trixie (Kristen Schaal) says, “Someone needs a brown marker,” and after Lilypad asks him if he’s an old man toy, Forky (Tony Hale) chimes in, adding, “She thinks you’re old, because you’re bald, Woody.”

Additional voice actors include Conan O’Brien and Ernie Hudson. Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, WALL-E), who has been involved as a writer on all previous Toy Story films, wrote this movie and serves as co-director with Kenna Harris. Lindsey Collins is producing.

When Toy Story 4 was released in theaters in 2019, it surpassed $1 billion at the global box office. The film also won an Oscar for best animated feature.

Toy Story 5 hits theaters June 19.
