For Vera Wang, birthdays never go out of style.
After turning 76 on June 27, the fashion designer’s b-day celebrations continued this week in Paris with a meal fit for a queen (of the catwalk).
Wang visited the iconic Chez l’Ami Louis restaurant on July 3 for dinner dressed in a slinky black lingerie dress that featured lace details along the hemline. The native New Yorker—who completed her sexy, monochromatic look with white heels, pearl necklaces, a small black purse and large black sunglasses—showed off lots of leg while posing outside the posh eatery.
And, of course, the petite mogul’s signature long, straight hair cascaded down her shoulders.
“Yet another one of my favorite Paris b’day haunts……CHEZ L’AMI LOUIS,” she captioned a gallery of Instagram pics. “et les frites!!!!!”
Wang documented the lavish meal as well, showing followers the massive streaks, mountain of French fries, bread, salad and plenty of wine she and her party of pals devoured during the five-star dinner.
But Wang’s head-turning look isn’t the only one she’s worn while ringing in her new year. She also rocked a long, black slip dress with a sheer panel showing off plenty of thigh for her actual birthday June 27.
Wang completed her backless look with a golden “76” bedazzled on her upper left arm.
“Just celebrating my 75 9/10 – 76th birthday NEW YORK TIME with my Parisian crew and a few others who have been lifelong besties!” the 5-foot, 3-inch star wrote on Instagram June 28, captioned several Instagram photos of herself literally walking the walk. “Thank you all for this special special night!”
Don’t expect the risk-taking style star to stop pushing the envelope with her bold fashion choices any time soon. In fact, she has absolutely no problem turning another year older, despite what society thinks.
“Women were considered transparent at a certain age, even in terms of their career,” Wang, who launched her namesake label when she was 40, told the BBC in March. “You will age out of a career. I do not just mean modeling, I do not just mean being an editor.”
However, she added, “It is not about age, it is about style. And that is always how I felt. I have never not felt that way.”
