Arnold Schwarzenegger put down the cookie for a heartwarming reflection.
After the Terminator star and ex-wife Maria Shriver‘s son Patrick Schwarzenegger married Abby Champion, wedding guest Rob Lowe shared insight into the patriarch’s speech.
“‘It’s good to see everybody here,'” he recalled of Arnold’s comments on the Sept. 17 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. “‘It’s a wonderful day. And Patrick is killing it now with The White Lotus.'”
The West Wing alum teased that Arnold, 77, had gone through his eldest son’s entire “filmography” while addressing the happy couple and guests, including John Owen Lowe, Patrick’s White Lotus family Jason Isaacs, Sarah Catherine Hook, Sam Nivola and his girlfriend Iris Apatow, Taylor Lautner andOlivia Jade.
As for whether Arnold—who also shares kids Katherine Schwarzenegger, 35, Christina Schwarzenegger, 34, Christopher Schwarzenegger, 27, with Maria, as well as Joseph Baena, 27, with Mildred Baena—pulled out one of his most memorable lines?
Rob teased, “No catchphrase. I think you have to pay extra for the catchphrase.”
For the Parks and Recreation actor, being a part of Patrick and Abby’s milestone—which took place in Utah over the Sept. 4 weekend—was an especially sweet experience.
“I’ve known Patrick since he was a little boy,” he explained to host Jimmy Kimmel. “It was a beautiful wedding. I’m at that stage where all my kids’ friends are getting married.”
Indeed, Patrick, 31, and Abby, 28, tied the knot in a fairytale ceremony overlooking waves in Lake Coeur d’Alene and the Rocky Mountains in the distance. While the couple’s nuptials was a day to remember, their guests partied hard during the three-day celebration.
Beginning with an intimate rehearsal dinner for the families and wedding party on Thursday, they held a Western-themed party to welcome their guests the next day. Donning cowboy boots and a matching hat, the bride told Vogue, “Western night was a whole different vibe, and honestly, one of the most fun looks of the weekend.”
Meanwhile, Patrick complemented Abby’s ensemble with a black leather coat and a bolo tie. On Saturday, Abby—in a form-fitting white gown featuring an overskirt train—was walked down the aisle by her dad Greg Champion, who also officiated the ceremony.
Reflecting on the weekend, she told the outlet, “I still can’t believe it’s over—it all flew by like a dream. I’m so excited to start this next chapter with Patrick.”
