Ventura also detailed her and Combs’ alleged drug use during “freak offs” as well as violence she said she experienced from him—including a 2016 assault at a Los Angeles hotel. CNN published a video of the incident in May 2024.

“What Combs did to Cassie on this video tape is indefensible. It’s horrible. It’s dehumanizing. It’s violent. It’s virtually every bad word you can think of,” Combs’ defense attorney Teny Geragos said during the trial May 12, per CNN, before noting this wasn’t a charge Combs faced in the case. “It is not evidence of sex trafficking. It is evidence of domestic violence.”

Around the time the video was released, Fine published a “letter to women and children” on Instagram—noting he “wrote this awhile back but the words ring true not just today but everyday.”

“Men who hit women aren’t men,” he wrote in the May 17, 2024 post. “Men who enable it and protect those people aren’t men.”

And Fine has let his love for Ventura be known for years.

“I promise you that I will do every single thing in my power to support you and help you,” he wrote in a June 2019 Instagram post announcing they were expecting their first child. “I promise that you will never be alone. I promise that you will be loved beyond expectation and we will show our children how to be in a healthy relationship.”

Who is Cassie Ventura’s husband Alex Fine?

Fine is an actor whose list of credits include MobLand, American Primeval, The Resurrection of Charles Manson and 1883. He’s also a model and walked the runways at Paris Fashion Week in 2024.

However, these aren’t the only titles on his résumé. Fine is also a celebrity fitness trainer as well as the founder of the workout app Almost Home. Still, he’s noted that acting is his main career focus these days.

“It has always been the plan,” he explained to Zero Magazine in a January interview. “I needed to build a steady career to live the life I wanted to while I pursued acting. Some people choose bartending, or valet until they get work, I chose fitness and opening a gym in my garage.”

Born in Ohio, Fine (or “Poonie” to his friends) attended Central Michigan University, where he played football. He later became a bull rider, but after becoming a father, Fine decided his days taking part in rodeo competitions were over.

“I used to live a little recklessly,” he told Zero Magazine. “Not in the sense of causing trouble, but I rode bulls, dirt bikes, was at car meets. When I had kids I pretty much stopped doing stuff that could kill me. I remember someone told me when Cassie was pregnant that if I died now from bull riding or whatever, then my kids will never know who I was and how much I would love them. It really stuck with me. Now I golf, workout, and do ballet with the babies.”

How did Cassie Ventura and Alex Fine meet?

According to Vogue, Fine first met Ventura at the gym. They struck up a romance that was made Instagram official in December 2018, months after her split from Combs.  

Six months later, Ventura and Fine shared they were expecting their first child.

“Can’t wait to meet our baby girl,” she wrote on Instagram in June 2019. “Love You Always & Forever.”

The couple announced their engagement two months later—with Fine proposing at Compton Cowboys (a horseback riding program for youth in the city).

“The first thing I saw was the guys on their horses waving at me,” Ventura recalled to Vogue, noting the couple already had their wedding date set. “I looked up and saw our initials tied up above them, then Alex came around on his horse. When he got down on one knee, everything just stopped. I felt like I lost my sense of hearing; I just saw his mouth moving, and he said ‘I want to spend the rest of my life with you.'”

When did Cassie Ventura and Alex Fine get married?

Fine and Ventura tied the knot during an intimate wedding in Malibu, Calif., just weeks later in August 2019.

“I felt really relaxed during the ceremony,” Cassie noted to Vogue, adding she and her husband kept the guest list to 14 of their closest family members. “As soon as I saw Alex, any nerves that I did have went away, and I just couldn’t stop smiling.”

And they continue to walk through life together.

“I’m so lucky that I got to marry my best friend and most beautiful wife in the world,” Fine wrote on Instagram for their third anniversary in 2022. “Every morning I wake up and see you and the babies I get so happy. Btw we had to of beaten the Hollywood marriage average by now. I love you so so soo much Mrs. Fine.”

How many kids do Cassie Ventura and Alex Fine have?

Two girls and a boy on the way. Less than four months after Ventura and Fine wed, their daughter Frankie, now 5, was born in December 2019. Her sister Sunny, 4, joined the family in March 2021.

“I have the most perfect babies who are beautiful, brave, smart, funny, and so loving,” Fine wrote on Instagram in October 2022. “They didn’t learn it from me but inherited it from @cassie. They got the best of both of us. All I know is someone needs to stop this train cause they are growing up way too fast.”

Now, they’re on track to become a family of five as he and Ventura announced in February they’re expecting a boy.

“There aren’t words to describe how grateful I am that I get to do this life with you!” The Perfect Match actress wrote in a tribute for Fine’s birthday in March. “The laughter and pure joy that I get to experience with you is beyond any of my dreams and manifestations. You’ve taken care of me and my heart like no other, you’re hands down the best girl dad and I’m SO excited to see you now become a father to OUR SON!”

But don’t expect to see every family photo posted to Instagram as Ventura is protective of her children’s privacy.

“I love that even though I share sometimes, seeing my children is rare and people don’t feel like they know them when they meet them. I don’t want that for them,” she told DSCENE in 2022. “They deserve to be kids for as long as possible and I’m here every second with them to make sure that happens. They are so funny it’s hard not to share everyday so I send photos and videos daily in the family group chat.”
