The 2025 Emmy Awards were cause for celebration.
While The Studio celebrated big with 13 trophies at the award ceremony—hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles Sept. 14—many stars cherished more intimate moments with their partners before giving their acceptance speeches.
Indeed, once The Pitt’s Katherine LaNasa was announced as the winner of the Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category, she leaned over to kiss her husband Grant Show before receiving a peck on the cheek from her costar Noah Wyle (who later shared a kiss with his wife Sara Wells when winning Lead Actor in a Drama). LaNasa even gave a sweet shoutout to her kids and Grant during her speech.
“Lastly, my children for making me real,” she said onstage, “and my beautiful husband Grant Show for helping me always with everything.”
Netflix’s Adolescence was another show that won big throughout the night, but amid the cheers, a blink-and-you-miss-it kiss was shared between Supporting Actress in a Limited Series winner Erin Doherty and her girlfriend Sinead Donnelly, who confirmed their relationship last month.
“Sinead, thank you for making me the happiest person in the world,” Doherty shared from stage. “I love you with everything I’ve got.”
In a hilarious twist, her costar Stephen Graham—who won three trophies throughout the night—went kissless from wife Hannah Walters, who continued to point out her vibrant red lipstick every time he leaned in for a smooch.
Meanwhile, Traitors host Alan Cumming earned more than just the trophy for Reality Competition Program—he received a tender kiss on the forehead from his husband Grant Shaffer, with whom he tied the knot in 2012.
“It’s a difficult time we live in but it’s so great that our show brings a little bit of joy into this life,” the Spy Kids alum shared. “And talking of joy, thank you Grant Shaffer, who brings joy into my life every single day.”
And after Somebody Somewhere actor Jeff Hiller appeared shocked to hear his name called for Supporting Actor in a Comedy, he received a kiss on the cheek from husband Neil Goldberg, who he thanked from stage, saying, “Thank you to my sweet husband and family for never laughing at me.”
And just like John Oliverand his wife Kate Norley shared a touching kiss during his first win of the night, comedian Stephen Colbertand his wife Evie McGee Colbert leaned in for a peck ahead of the Late Show host’s speech.
“Personally, I want to thank my beautiful, brilliant wife Evie,” Colbert said, “who is the real brains of the outfit.”
