Julie Chrisley is cherishing every moment with her family.
Two days after the Chrisley Knows Best star and her husband Todd Chrisley—who were serving sentences for tax evasion and bank fraud—were released from prison as a result of their presidential pardons from Donald Trump, Julie decided to skip their family press conference to spend some quality time with their adopted daughter Chloe Chrisley.
“Julie—who is a wonderful, decent, God fearing woman that I am blessed to have been married to and been with for over 30 years now, an excellent mother—she’s at home with Chloe right now,” Todd said during the May 30 press conference. “Chloe will not let her go. We’re blessed to have our family back.”
Chloe is the biological daughter of Todd’s son Kyle Chrisley, whom the reality star shares with ex Teresa Terry. Todd and Julie adopted Chloe in 2016 while Kyle—who has been estranged from his father in recent years—was struggling with substance abuse.
And while Chloe and Julie were making up for lost time, Todd and their 27-year-old daughter Savannah Chrisley were publicly detailing their commitment to fighting against their prior convictions that “should not have happened,” as well as the “injustices” that exist within the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Prisons.
“I want to thank first and foremost, my Lord and Savior, because that’s who got me through it,” Todd said. “I want to thank President Trump. I want to thank the administration. I want to thank Alice [Marie] Johnson. I want to thank every person that has prayed for us, that has stayed in the fight and that fought for the truth to come out, and so I am grateful for it.”
Todd and Julie were initially set to be released from prison in 2032 and 2028, respectively, until Trump signed off on the pair’s pardons May 28 after Savannah, who had known the president, advocated for their release.
“As Savannah said,” Todd continued, “she has fought a long fight, and for any parent to see their child fight this hard, it’s a double edged sword. It’s a blessing, and then your heart breaks because your child has been placed in that position to fight for you, when, as a parent, you’re supposed to fight for your children. So I will always be grateful to you.”
As for how Chloe, the youngest of the couple’s five children, reacted to the news that her parents were going to walk free again? Well, it was a bit hard to wrap her head around at first.
“Chloe, I think, is still in shock,” Savannah recently told NewsNation’s Leland Vittert of the 12-year-old during On Balance. “She doesn’t want to get her hopes up, because she feels like something bad is going to is going to happen. But I’m excited to be going to get my dad and bringing him home to her. We’re excited.”
