Why Love Island USA’s Hannah Says Her Elimination Felt Like a “Sick Joke”

Watch:‘Love Island’ Hannah Details “Sick Joke” Elimination, What’s Next With Charlie & Pepe

Hannah Fields was just as shocked by her elimination from Love Island USA as viewers were.

During the June 22 episode of the Peacock reality series, the 23-year-old was sent packing after her fellow islanders ChelleyBissainthe, Olandria Carthen, Huda Mustafa and Cierra Ortega chose to dump her over Amaya Espinal and Iris Kendall—a decision that caught her off guard, to say the least.

“I’m like, ‘This has to be a sick joke,’” Hannah told E! News in an exclusive interview. “Honestly, I did not prepare myself for it to be me. When my name was called, I had to do a f–king double take. I’m like, ‘What do you mean?’ It honestly blew my mind.”

Because the deliberations were not shown in the episode, fans were just as perplexed as to how the women came to their jaw-dropping decision. And even after leaving the villa, Hannah was still scratching her head as to why the vote went the way it did.

“I have no clue what was said,” she continued. “I have no clue if anyone was gunning for me or if anyone was standing up for me, and that’s something I wish I got clarity on.”

Viewers did get to see the ladies’ tearful goodbyes as Hannah gathered her belongings, which she revealed were just as awkward as they appeared onscreen.

“They were apologizing to me and telling me how great of a person I am, which I didn’t want to hear,” she recalled. “I was pissed off. I think I had every right to be pissed off.”

“But,” she added, “those are still my friends and I still love them. I know that they had to make a decision and I know that was a hard decision, but it never feels good when it’s your friends voting you out.”
