Megan Fox isn’t going to praise Machine Gun Kelly for simply doing his part.
Four months after the Jennifer’s Body star and the “Bad Things” rapper (real name Colson Barker) welcomed their baby girl Saga Blade, MGK shared Megan’s reaction to those fawning over him as a girl dad.
“Someone the other day was like, ‘You’re such a good dad!’ just because I was holding the baby,” MGK explained during an August 7 appearance on Today. “And she was fuming, like, ‘No, no, no, no.’”
And the 35-year-old—also dad to Casie, 15, with ex Emma Cannon—assured he was not indulging in the double standard.
“I want to detract all of the congrats to me and just move it to Megan because she really does all the work,” he explained. “She’s the one. I just play the guitar and pray that the baby is happy.”
As he put it, “I keep getting called ‘The Music Teacher.’”
However, MGK wasted no time sharing what life has been like since the couple welcomed their little one back in March, adding, “It’s awesome.”
Indeed, the father of two gave insight into his and Megan’s newest addition earlier this summer, sharing insight behind her unique name.
“I think her journey, you know, the five years of kind of her culmination of coming, disappearing, coming back again, disappearing, coming back again,” MGK explained during a June appearance on Today. “She is an epic story. That’s what saga means.”
Since the word “saga” also has Nordic roots, MGK was doubly sold it would make a perfect name for his daughter, adding, “That’s the Nordic goddess of storytelling. So, she has a storytelling future ahead of her.”
MGK has been loud with his praise of his family amid promoting his lost americana album, which drops August 8, but Megan—who shares three kids with ex-husband Brian Austin Green—has otherwise been laying low since welcoming Saga. Still, she has already made it clear that the pair’s baby feels like the best part of their ongoing story, especially amid her miscarriage, which she shared in 2023.
“Nothing is ever really lost,” Megan wrote in her pregnancy announcement back in November. “Welcome back.”

She continued, “What I can say is, that is what I refer to as being my ‘twin soul’, and there will always be a tether to him no matter what.”

The duo welcomed daughter on March 27, 2025. According to MGK, Megan gave birth while listening to a score composed by himself and pal Travis Barker.
The rocker said he named their baby girl Saga Blade Fox-Baker because she’s the five-year culmination of “coming, disappearing, coming back again, disappearing, coming back again.”
“She is an epic story,” he told Today. “That’s what saga means.”
