Olivia Culpo doesn’t mind if there’s a blind side in her pregnancy journey.
In fact, the former Miss Universe said she’s “always wanted” to hold off on finding out her baby’s sex until the birth—though her husband Christian McCaffrey has other ideas.
“He goes back and forth,” Olivia exclusively told E! News, calling the big reveal a “once in a lifetime experience.”
“I think I will maybe convince him that it would be really fun to wait,” she continued of the San Francisco 49ers running back. “It would be such a nice surprise.”
Besides, Olivia noted, “There’s really nothing else that I could ask for.”
“Being healthy, that’s all you can ask for,” the 32-year-old explained. “That’s part of why I’m not finding out the gender either.”
She added, “I feel like I have a job and that’s to be as healthy and mindful as I possibly can.”
Olivia also plans to bring the same go-with-the-flow energy into her parenting style. As she put it, “I’m really just kind of planning on diving into that when those circumstances present themselves in real time.”
“I have a lot of siblings who have had babies,” Olivia said, referencing sister Aurora Culpo and brother Pete Culpo, “and I know better by now to really understand that it’s a different situation when you’re physically in it. You just never know what you’re going to need, what your child’s going to need, what’s going to feel right.”
That’s why Olivia is soaking up every experience ahead of her baby’s arrival, including embracing her growing belly after spending months hiding it so as to not spoil the big pregnancy announcement.
“Pregnancy dressing is really all about highlighting the bump,” shared Olivia, who has teamed up with Cupshe on a new clothing collection. “It’s kind of funny because, for a while, I was working really hard to dress in the exact opposite way.”
The model continued, “Having to find outfits that didn’t show the bump, that was challenging and it was oftentimes pretty funny—because some things really, really don’t work and other things do.”
She added, “Figuring out how to balance all the new curves has been really fun.”
