Sarah Jessica Parker’s kids are growing up just like that.
And the Sex and the City alum—who shares son James Wilkie, 22, and twins Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell, 16, with husband Matthew Broderick—doesn’t want to miss a minute of it, which is why she’s in no rush to slow down her bustling lifestyle.
“The idea of leisure is pretty amazing to think about,” she said in E! News’ exclusive sneak peek of the July 7 episode of MSNBC’s The Best People with Nicolle Wallace. “But I’m not overly eager for it, because I don’t want it until I know that my children are pursuing their next stage of life in their academic careers. When they go to college, I can think about traveling in September.”
Or as host Nicolle Wallace put it, “When you’re an empty nester.”
Besides raising her family, Sarah, 60, has a number of projects on the go—including her role in HBO Max’s And Just Like That—but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
“You don’t imagine days where you’re like, ‘Hmm, what should I do today?’” she continued. “Because that’s just not been—no fault but my own—the way I’ve functioned.”
Instead, the Emmy winner embraces every aspect of her day-to-day activities—even the more tedious tasks.
“I love doing the laundry,” she revealed. “I love housework, ‘cause when I grew up, it was crazy all the time.”
As for when her twins do fly the coop, Sarah already knows how she intends to spend her extra free time.
“Probably travel more,” she said. “There are times that other countries are at their best, and right now with my children in school, I can’t go where I would wanna go.”
